A group of Bishop Ludden students huddle around a table, stuffing, taping and wrapping shoe boxes. They fill each box with a bit of cheer - candy, magazines and a letter saying thanks.
The packages are for American military personnel involved in the Afghanistan war.
As teen-agers, the students felt helpless to contribute something valuable to the cause. This project has empowered them.
"What can I do? I'm a 17-year-old girl," says senior Ursula Rozum. "But with just this little thing, we can make their day better and let them know that (what they're doing) means a big deal to people at home."
