LOS ANGELES _ Mike Modano came back and did what he does best _ make a difference with a goal just when the Stars needed it.
Joe Nieuwendyk kept doing what he has been doing all season, with two quick goals in the second period.
The result was a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings, thanks to Modano's second goal of the game 10:19 into third period.
The Stars have beaten the Kings three consecutive times since that 8-0 loss on Jan. 30 of last season.
