Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling contributed mightily and equally to the success of the world champion Arizona Diamondbacks.
The two pitchers won 43 games - 22 for Schilling and 21 for Johnson - nearly half the Diamondbacks' total of 92 regular-season victories.
Voting for the National League Cy Young Award was another matter, strictly one-sided for Johnson.
He received 30 of 32 first-place votes and totaled 156 points to win his third consecutive NL Cy Young on Tuesday, his fourth overall. Johnson, who went 21-6 with a 2.49 earned-run average, also won the American League Cy Young with Seattle in ...
