Nov. 17--The Chicago Transit Authority, eyeing a reduction of its costs, is putting out feelers about relocating its headquarters from its long-time home in the Merchandise Mart.
The CTA currently leases about 252,000 square feet of space in the Mart and 350 N. Orleans, which flanks the hulking, 3.4-million-square-foot structure. The Kennedy family owned the properties until 1998, when they were sold to Vornado Realty Trust.
The New York-based real estate investment trust retains strong ties to the Kennedys, one of the nation's most prominent families. Christopher ...
