On Sept. 10 in New York City, Onion co-founder and former Madison resident Scott Dikkers filmed a 3 1/2-minute short comedy about a troubled president faced with an attack on the U.S. by eskimos.
Set decades ago, the president, played by Chevy Chase -- not in Gerald Ford mode -- keeps trying to tape a message for a newsreel clip only to be interrupted by worse and worse news, including flying igloos over Washington, D.C.
The short film, called "E-Day," was supposed to help it become a feature film with Chase starring.
Until Sept. 11, that is.
