Dear Editor: I recently decided to remodel my kitchen. It looked like a flashback to the 1970sso my wife and I figured it was time for a change. We wanted to get all new appliances. While shopping we noticed the Energy Star label on some of the appliances.

We asked the salesman what it was and he told us that the Energy Star label meant that the appliance used less energy than the others without the label. My wife and I aren't normally too concerned about that sort of thing so we didn't worry about it while we were shopping. However, we ended up choosing a refrigerator that did have the Energy Star label. I was a little skeptical that it would work just as well ...
