ABIX via COMTEX) -- Virgin Blue could be under majority Australian ownership by the end of 2002. This is according to its CEO, Brett Godfrey, who was speaking on 18 November 2001. He said that Virgin's boss, Sir Richard Branson, is "open" about the possibility, and that it is not necessary for Sir Richard to have control of the airline. He said that the money raised from any such sale of Virgin Blue would possibly be used by Virgin on its US telecommunication interests.
