TEMPLE WITHDRAWS FROM TRAUMA CENTER DESIGNATION
PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Temple University Hospital plans to withdraw from the Regional Resource Trauma Center designation as early as Monday, Jan. 8, it was announced today by Leon S. Malmud, M.D., vice president, Temple University Health Sciences Center.
According to Malmud, the details of the withdrawal will be worked out in discussions with the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF) and city agencies.
"The hospital has chosen to withdraw from the designation because it burdens Temple with an inappropriate share of Philadelphia's totally unreimbursed care," Malmud said. ...
