Thirteen Liverpool seniors and a handful of underclassmen returned to P&C Stadium Saturday night, still smarting from the memory of last November.
It was on this field that Liverpool, playing in its first-ever field hockey final four tournament, lost the state Class A semifinal in the final seconds of overtime to eventual champion Sweet Home.
Sportsmanship and runner-up plaques are small consolation and barely eased the pain of having the dream snatched away at the end. It didn't get any easier as Liverpool lost to Section 6's Lancaster 1-0 in the state semifinal.
