A federal judge on Monday dismissed the California Horse Racing Board's case against Bob Baffert, the leading trainer in the country and a two-time winner of the Kentucky Derby.
The CHRB had suspended Baffert 60 days because one of his horses, Nautical Look, tested positive for morphine in a race at Hollywood Park in May of last year. At the time of the race, Baffert was at Churchill Downs preparing Captain Steve for the Kentucky Derby. Baffert's suspension was to begin in June, but a superior court judge in Los Angeles had issued a stay.
Nautical Look tested positive at a level of 73 nanograms, or 73 billionths per milliliter of urine. The microscopic ...
