On a Tuesday morning, Tom Wacker is making breakfast for his daughter while batches of Chocoholic Caramel and Butter Pecan Toffee cook in the commercial kitchen on the lower floor of his Sun Prairie home.
The proprietor of Tom's Handmade Candies had crawled out of bed at 4 a.m. to start churning out enough sweet stuff to meet the holiday-season demand.
This year, Wacker is looking to market his rich creations beyond local farmers' markets and art fairs, so he has launched a World Wide Web site to expand the market for his confections.
