This volume contains eighteen short papers first presented at a conference in 1994 marking the bicentenary of the death of Justus Moser. It makes no claims to systematic coverage of the Sturm und Drang, and several major authors of the period (Gerstenberg, Lenz, Klinger, Schiller) are scarcely mentioned, nor is there an index or bibliography. As the subtitle also hints and the link with Moser would suggest, the volume tends to focus on motifs within the history of ideas, the 'geistiger Aufbruch', rather than ...
