Lightweight Foamed Ceramic.(Brief Article)

Kurabo Industries and ITC Company have jointly developed a new ceramic material, trade-named Kurancell-Light which is low in water absorbency. This ceramic is an inorganic foamed material, formed by heating and foaming a ceramic raw material powder.

Heating is accomplished using the same type of ceramic furnace formed by heating tile and sintering refractory bricks, but the sintering conditions and the raw material injection method are controlled to create a uniform and independent foamed structure similar to that of foamed urethane.
