This is a long running project having several stages starting in 1991, and now in it's evaluation years, 2000 / 2001 / 2002.
Complex carbohydrates, fundamental components of organisms, have vital functions such as substance recognition, which cannot be achieved only by nucleic acids, proteins, or lipids.
Complex carbohydrates adhere to enzymes which immobilise carbon dioxide and stimulate reaction promoting functions, so the applications of these complex carbohydrates has great potential in industrial sectors.
