UNIONISTS last night rejected a range of new-look police emblems proposed as part of the overhaul of the new force's insignia, calling them an "insult to members of the RUC, past and present".
However, the SDLP welcomed the opportunity to give its views on the seven new emblems.
DUP security spokesman Ian Paisley Jnr last night branded them as "cartoon- like".
