THURSDAY night's Walking With Beasts was the first time I had experienced the BBC's much-vaunted computer-generated recreation of creatures that last walked with Earth 50 million years ago.
My reaction was instantaneous: amazing, incredible. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe how bad it was.
The computer animation was clumsy and obvious, and the creatures curiously uninvolving and leaden, resulting in some of the slowest, most laborious chase sequences since Heartbeat.
