The Superconductivity Research Laboratory is a joint enterprise on the part of the Agency of Industrial Science & Technology and some 45 corporations in the private sector, with a mandate to develop high temperature superconducting materials. After the completion of Phase I in 1998, Phase II is now currently proceeding and is focussed on the following objectives, according to the most recent report on the Laboratory's activities with respect to applications of high temperature superconductivity:

+ The development of high temperature superconducting bulks (supermagnets).
