Japan's national strategy is targeted at making the country the global number one, in advanced information technology applications, through the applications of nanotechnologies, and to achieve this position by the end of 2006, with credibility measured in realtime world market shares.
Japan's Keidanren (Japan Federation of Economic Organisation), is the vehicle for the industrial private sector, and has responded to government calls for an active role to be played in facilitating Japanese companies to participate in R & D and in practical commercially viable uses in all fields of nanotechnology.
