Development of application of carbon nanotubes to field emission display (fed).(extract of report from Research Center for Advanced Carbon Materials)(Brief Article)

Research Center for Advanced Carbon Materials - National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science & Technology (AIST) - Report Extract

AIST is in train of a joint project with Mie University on the development of carbon nanotubes to FED. The researchers note, that an electron source using carbon nanotubes has 'excellent' properties, including the fact that no heat is necessary, and a brighter electron beam can be obtained. This differentiates from the conventional heat electron emission format, making carbon nanotubes a top candidate for the next-generation electron source of field emission display.

The researchers measured the electric current density of the field ...
