The Femtosecond Technology Research Association has developed a system that generates high brightness X-ray beams, exhibiting stability, and it is said that compared to synchrotron radiation (SOR) facilities, the 400fs X-ray beams are up to one thousand times brighter.
As the pulse width is narrow and the beam is very bright, it will be possible to study the motions of engines during vehicle operation and to detect the most minute problems. This high brightness, short pulse X-ray beam can capture objects moving at extremely fast speeds, in the same manner as a high speed cameras.
