The well known, high precision instrument manufacturer Shimadzu Corporation, has developed a device for the detection of nano level amounts of endocrine disrupters, and a variety of other toxic substances that foul the environment

The new equipment is sensitive enough to detect a quantity of just 0.7 nanogram per litre in river water.

In tests, Shimadzu has shown that it is feasible to measure the density of the hormone disrupter bisphenol A, in just 30 minutes, a fraction of the time needed when using conventional methods.
