KABUL, Afghanistan (Reuters) - The United States intensified its hunt for Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan yesterday as the world focused on restoring
hope in the country and bringing lasting peace after two decades of conflict.
Washington offered $25 million for information on Saudi-born Bin Laden, the man it accuses of masterminding the Sept. 11 attacks that killed around 4,500 people in the United States and prompted the US-led war of retaliation in Afghanistan.
"If we knew precisely where he was, he would be dead," one US official said on condition of anonymity. "He will eventually get caught."
