JAKARTA, Nov 21 Asia Pulse - The Indonesian government is prevented from imposing tarriff barriers to rice imports by its agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a report said Wednesday.

Under an agreement with IMF the government could impose a 25 per cent import duty on rice in time of scarcity and 35 per cent in harvest time, Widjanarko Puspoyo, head of the Board of Logistics (Bulog) told the newspaper Koran Tempo Tuesday.
