When Pat Hunold of Lyncourt arrived at Carousel Center mall to begin his holiday shopping on Friday, there was no one standing in front of Best Buy's main entrance.
Hunold took the first spot. It was 2:30 a.m.
The store wouldn't open for 270 minutes. By the time nervous store workers rolled the gates up, there were easily 999 people behind Hunold. The orderly line broke rank and in minutes, every shopper who wanted to get into Best Buy was seemingly swallowed by the consumer electronics and software store.
