I have read where Virginia Tech plans to implement a program in biomedical research with Wake Forest University. Would it surprise you to learn that we already have such a program in Virginia? It's at the University of Virginia and is highly ranked - No. 15 nationally and No. 6 for a state university.
Why start another program in this discipline? We hear about the shortage of funds in the state and how programs and cultural activities have to be limited or curtailed. The car-tax elimination will fade because money is not there to phase it out.
We are told Virginia Tech wants to break the top 30 in college spending ...
