Article: Canada plans audit of wheat board papers.(Canadian Wheat Board )(Brief Article)

For the first time in its history, the book of the Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) will be subjected to scrutiny by Canada's auditor general.

The extensive review will take a look at CWB's accounting systems and the way it reports information, as well as make a general assessment of its overall management practices.

Before it could be scheduled, the audit plan had to receive the approval of CWB's board of directors. It follows on the heels of a 1998 amendment, the Canadian Wheat Board Act, that allowed for a one-time audit of the board's books.
