The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Committee D30 on Composites has devised and published a compression test method for composites.
D 6641, Standard Test Method for Determining the Compressive Properties of Polymer Matrix Composite Laminates Using a Combined Loading Compression (CLC) Test Fixture has the potential to eventually replace the various compression test methods standardized by ASTM, according to D30 member Donald F. Adams who drafted the standard.
