Two of the area's top figure skaters are training with the goal of making strong showings among their sport's elite athletes.
Evan Lysacek of Naperville and Josh Uster of Lisle both have earned berths in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in January in Los Angles.
Lysacek recently placed second among senior men at the Midwestern Sectional Championships in Northbrook.
"I am really happy to be going back to nationals again," Lysacek said. "My goal for this U.S. nationals is to improve on last year's finish and skate two clean programs."
