Nov. 28--FORT WAYNE, Ind.--Fort Wayne Newspapers has a new president and chief executive officer, and The News-Sentinel has a new publisher. Knight Ridder announced Tuesday it has appointed Mary Jacobus, publisher of the Duluth News Tribune in Minnesota, to the posts.
Scott McGehee -- who has for almost 10 years led the joint operating agreement between Knight Ridder's News-Sentinel and the privately owned morning Journal Gazette, and served as publisher for the afternoon News- Sentinel -- will take her long-planned retirement at the end of the year.
