2001 DEC 3 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Phase 2 Discovery, Inc., has been awarded a $107,090 Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH).
This grant will support Phase 2 Discovery in the development of a serum-based biomarker that will predict the clinical outcome and quantify the effectiveness of new drugs for treating patients with severe head injury. According to company estimates, the market for this new diagnostic could be up to $22 million.
