MONTANA TOPIC A AS PARIS BEGINS
PARIS -- The first two days of spring fashion week haven't caused much of a stir, but all of Paris was abuzz about Claude Montana's new job as couturier at Lanvin.
Leon Bressler's announcement that Montana would unveil his first couture collection for the house of Lanvin in January 1990 was met with hearty applause here Wednesday afternoon. During the press conference that followed, Montana was asked the crucial question: Would he pamper the Lanvin couture clientele by personally attending fittings? Montana hesitated before replying, "We'll see."
