Dec. 6--Rochester Cheese, which ages and blends cheeses for foods companies nationwide, now is part of a multi-state dairy cooperative after a sale late last week.
Swiss Valley Farms Co., based in Davenport, Iowa, acquired the local firm on Friday, the two companies announced. Rochester Cheese will retain its name and its employees, operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of the $500 million co-op, chief executive officer Al DeBoer said Wednesday.
