WASHINGTON -- General Motors, Hughes Electronics and EchoStar Communications Corporation today filed their application to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for approval to transfer control of certain licenses to their proposed merged company. The FCC review is designed to ensure that the transaction serves the public interest.
