TRENTON, N.J. -- The first report to benchmark philanthropy in New Jersey, New Jersey Gives, shows that New Jerseyans donate a generous 13 percent more to charity than the national average. However, the report also shows the geographic disparity of donors, philanthropic institutions and non-profit organizations throughout the state.
The results of New Jersey Gives were unveiled today by the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers (CNJG), an organization of 96 private, community and corporate funding organizations dedicated to promoting effective philanthropy in this state. The report was released at Thomas Edison State College.
