WALTHAM, Mass. -- Guardent, Inc., the leading provider of security and privacy services, today released information outlining practical methods for preventing the infiltration of the BadTrans.B worm. Developing a detailed plan of prevention, none of Guardent's anti-virus customers suffered a Bad Trans.B attack.
BadTrans.B is actively infecting Internet hosts. Exploiting a known vulnerability in Microsoft products, BadTrans.B installs a keystroke logger, enabling a hacker to view, capture and use confidential data that may be stored, cached or entered through a keyboard on a victim's computer. This leaves BadTrans.B victims susceptible to credit card and password fraud.
