2001 DEC 11 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY) has announced that Tequin (gatifloxacin), a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic, has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a short-course (five-day) regimen in the treatment of acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (ABECB). Tequin is already approved for ABECB, acute sinusitis and community-acquired pneumonia.
