PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local ADMINISTRACION NACIONAL DE USINAS Y TRANSMISIONES ELECTRICAS (ANUTE) is currently gearing-up to build a new thermoelectric power station in the south of the country. Construction plans under consideration would involve building a natural gas-fired plant with an installed generating capacity ranging between 300 and 400 Mw. In so doing, the project is to be implemented on the basis of a build-operate (BO) scheme. However, UTE's participation in the project is still said to be under analysis.
