Bioscience R&D, which has more than doubled in South San Francisco over the past five years, is expected to expand extensively in the next two years, as new medical technologies and drugs move from labs to patients' bedsides.
According to a new study issued Nov. 27, 2001, by the California Healthcare Institute (CHI), and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, 70% of South San Francisco bioscience companies surveyed expect to expand R&D operations in South San Francisco in the next two years.
