A Feast For All Tastes -- Almost
In my many years as a college English professor, I watched with increasing envy various anthologies of literature come out with identifiable ethnic designations -- English, American, African American, Oriental, etc. I kept waiting with messianic fervor for the publication of an anthology somewhat more heimish. At last, with the publication of this Norton anthology of Jewish American literature, my wish has been granted -- almost.
At the very beginning of their work, the editors clearly state their objective:
