Dec. 10--Grand Forks' only periodontist, Dr. Brad Jarvey, has announced he will retire at the end of January, making Fargo and Winnipeg the closest places to Grand Forks to offer periodontic services.
Jarvey, also an oral surgeon, said he has been trying unsuccessfully for two years to bring another periodontist to the city by working through the American Academy of Periodontology and advertising in journals.
"The biggest problem is there are only about 150 (periodontists) trained a year in the United States, and right now, about 400 positions are open," Jarvey ...
