THE future of veteran BBC radio broadcaster Jimmy Young was reportedly hanging in the balance again today when senior BBC sources said the 80-year-old Radio 2 host would leave the Corporation next year.
The future of the presenter who has hosted the Jimmy Young Programme since 1973 has been in question for several months, but the threat was thought to have been staved off after protests by thousands of listeners and a campaign in Parliament by MPs.
A senior BBC source said today that Young will be told that his yearly contract - which has always been renewed in March - will only be extended for six months and will end ...
