Olympic Peru plans to start producing natural gas in Lote XIII (Piura) during the first 2 months of 2002. The company will set up a gas pipeline up to Ceticos Paita in order to supply other sectors than fishing, which will be the first industry to be served. It has already signed supply agreements with 3 Paita-based fishing companies (Austral Group, Pesquera Hayduk and Del Mar), and has begun talks with northern fishing companies like Yacila, Sacramento, Productos Alimenticios, Agropesca, Sipesa and Cormar.
