Dec. 11--Work crews are raising the walls and installing the roof structure at Ford Motor Co.'s sprawling parts-distribution center in Manteca, scheduled to open in the spring.
At 608,510 square feet, it will be the largest building in the city and employ 200 people. However, Ford officials expect to fill those posts with United Auto Worker employees now working in the company's Richmond facility and other locations.
