Automated Scheduling Systems: A Comparison
Using computers to make reservations is nothing new. Airlines and hotels have done it for years. But reducing that technology to fit other institutions' particular needs is a complex programming challenge.
Six years ago automated scheduling software was limited to three programs running on mainframes or minicomputers: Tek-Data from Tek-Data Systems Co. (then RTI), Media Manager from VIS Consultants, and Medianet from Dymaxion Research Ltd.
