Very large-scale (VLS) databases allow for the storage, retrieval and transfer of vast amounts of data at the touch of a key. It is imperative, therefore, that the consumers of this information, whether they are researchers, scientists, educators or corporate executives, be trained to effectively use computing capabilities.
