TULSA, Okla. -- With a four-year goal of raising $40 million nationally for Special Olympics by 2003, Cingular announced it has successfully reached the halfway point by raising more than $20.4 million in two years. Funds raised in Oklahoma this year totaled $141,000.

Cingular Wireless will present the funds raised in Oklahoma during the Special Olympics 2001 Recognition and Appreciation Luncheon in Tulsa on Thursday, December 13.

The nationwide effort spearheaded by Cingular is one of the country's most significant corporate philanthropic initiatives seen to date, and is the largest sponsorship in Special Olympics USA's history.
