Dec. 13--Facing the threat of eviction, the World Trade Center Fort Lauderdale is pulling out of its longtime offices in downtown's Sun-Sentinel Building at New River Center.
World Trade Center Fort Lauderdale, which serves as a resource for companies that want to sell goods overseas, did not pay rent for October and November, its landlord said recently in a lawsuit.
Fred Frankel, the trade center's president, said he withheld rent for those months in response to a dispute with the building's owner -- Lauderdale River, which is affiliated with Invesco Realty Advisors of Dallas.
