2001 DEC 19 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Avanir Pharmaceuticals (AVN) has identified a small molecule found to be effective in suppressing the synthesis of immunoglobulin epsilon (IgE) and other critical mediators of the allergic response. Scientific data on its patented new chemical entity, internally code-named AVP-893, was presented by Mark Richards, PhD, at the recent American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Conference.
