Dec. 13--Potter County commissioners voted Monday to return more than $6,000 in taxes to two companies.
Dianne Lavake, interim tax assessor-collector, said Transamerica Real Estate Tax Services paid $5,464.81 to Potter County by mistake. The money was owed to Randall County, Lavake said.
CMH Homes Inc. paid a $562.21 duplicate tax, she said.
Today, the tax office refunds all duplicates and overpayments, which is a change from the old policy, Lavake said.
