Dec. 15--Signaling the beginning of the end of seven decades of Yawkey family ownership, the Boston Red Sox yesterday announced the team's limited partners will meet on Thursday to consider which record-setting bid to accept for the franchise.
At the meeting, scheduled to take place at the team's offices at Fenway Park, the Red Sox's eight limited partners are expected to review bids, at least two of which top $405 million, for the Yawkey Trust's controlling interest in the Red Sox.
